Waterfall marks the beginning of what would become the Matrix Series.
Created in 2016, the composition brings together fluid movement and deliberate detail. Organic forms and developing patterns establish a relationship between spontaneity and structure that continues throughout the series.
Looking back at the work now, I can see the beginning of ideas that would take on new forms years later. I hadn’t planned a larger narrative at the time, but the visual relationships explored here became part of an evolving body of work.
